In-Motion DirecTV Dish FAQ

In-Motion dishes, DirecTV receivers and Low (Slow) Speed Data-Ports

DirecTV Receivers - Low Slow Speed Data Ports - KVH TrackVision In-Motion Dishes

Question #1 ... Which DirecTV receiver is the correct one to work with my In-Motion dish?

2000 Networks customers use a variety of in-motion dishes purchased through numerous dish manufacturers. The most common requests we receive are from RV and boating customers who use the KVH brand in-motion dishes. Here are a few of our recommendations for matching different dish models up with DIRECTV receivers when a low speed data-port is required:

  • Marine antennas will work with any DIRECTV receiver. However, we do not recommend DVR's as primary receivers.

  • Older KVH TrackVision Antennas and TrackVision Cruiser. We recommend the DirecTV D10-100 model. Your antenna will need to have the latest KVH software installed. None of the older TrackVision antennas or TrackVision Cruisers shipped from the factory with the latest software, so this would need to be confirmed. Check with KVH on how to proceed with upgrading your antenna software.

  • Hughes DIRECTV receivers - We do not recommend Hughes receivers for KVH in-motion antennas. They can be used for stationary antennas SF, S2, & S3. It is best to avoid using them for mobile antennas LM/LF and L2 unless it can be confirmed that the antenna has the latest software.

Question #2 ... Which DirecTV receivers have the Low Speed Data-Port connection RJ22 that looks like a small telephone type RJ11 connector?

Question #3 ... I need an adapter to change my RJ22 connector to a DB9 9-Pin connector.

Question #4 ... I need another kind of adapter or cable to connect my DirecTV receiver and KVH TracVision antenna.
