SWiM (SWM) Technology
SWiM (SWM) = Single Wire Multi-Switch. If all of your DirecTV receivers are SWiM capable this new technology greatly improves your installation simplicity. One length of RG6 coax from your dish into your home. That coax connects to the SWiM power inserter. That same coax connects to any one of the SWS SWiM splitters. SWS-2 (2-way) SWS-4 (4-way) or SWS-8 (8-way). That same coax exits the splitter and runs to your DirecTV HD DVR and connects to SAT1 Input. Your SWiM capable receiver knows that your dish has sent two channels and can operate both SAT1 and SAT2 internally. No need for a second run of coax to SAT2. In summary, one run of RG6 coax from your dish to your two tuner HD DVR and you can now watch one channel while recording a second channel. No more need for two runs of coax to one room! SWiM Technology will work with up to (8) eight tuners. (4) HD DVRs, (8) HD tuners or a combination of both.
